Earth-Friendly Landscape Tips

April 10, 2022by Josh P

Landscaping is important to the look, feel and function of your home. It can also have a major impact on the environment. Fortunately, there are a number of earth-friendly landscaping tips that can help you create a beautiful yard that is also eco-friendly.

One simple way to make your landscaping more earth friendly is to choose native plants. Native plants are adapted to the local climate and soil, so they require less water and fertilizer than imported species. In addition, native plants support local wildlife, providing food and habitat for birds, bees and other animals.

Another way to make your landscaping more sustainable is to reduce the amount of lawn you have. Lawns require a lot of water and chemicals to stay green, so replacing some of your grass with drought-tolerant landscaping can save water and reduce pollution. In Atlanta, for example, landscapers are encouraging homeowners to replace their lawns with native plantings that are more adapted to our hot, humid climate.

Additionally, think about composting your yard waste. Yard waste, such as leaves and grass clippings, can be turned into compost, which is a great natural fertilizer for your plants.

Finally, mulch your garden beds. Mulch helps to prevent weeds and retain moisture in the soil. It also helps to prevent erosion and keep your plants healthy.

By following these simple tips, you can create an attractive landscape that is also good for the environment. We can help you accomplish all of these recommendations and create a beautiful, earth-friendly landscape.

Extremely happy with the service that was given. This business embodies what professionalism is all about. Pictures would not do this company any justice. Seeing what they did for one of my friends home has me in anticipation for my own home. There is no other place you will use. Enough said!

Went through a few landscaping groups before finding North Metro. HUGE difference in other companies. They’re super responsive, always on time, and do an amazing job. One time they missed some clippings and came back in two hours and handled it. Can’t recommend them enough.

Great service! North Metro did a great job installing new Zeon Zoysia sod in my front yard. Very professional and laid so well that you couldn't really see any lines from the sod. Very impressed! When it was ready for it's first cut, the reel mower they used did a fantastic job. Highly recommend them to keep your yard picture perfect!

Moles: Little Critters, Big Problems
Moles: creatures of destruction Picture this: you spend all weekend weeding and fertilizing your lawn, trimming and pruning your bushes paying attention to each and every detail. You stand back admiring your hard work and your lawn’s beauty before retiring for the afternoon. The next morning your yard looks like a battlefield. Instead of that...
